When Mike & I were trying to decide on camping places to hit up this year (you know…back before Covid-19 hit), we decided the Great Sand Dunes National Park should be one of those places. It’s the most dog friendly of the national parks (dogs are welcome all over the dunes) and a do-able weekend trip. However, after the Denver news places started talking about it a lot last year, the reservations for camping spots started disappearing fast. So we made sure to reserve 6 months ahead of time (back in Feb) to make sure we got a good spot.
Now it seems like the perfect place to visit this year! It’s a bizarre spot – a giant sand pit tucked into the Rocky Mountains – perfect for such a bizarre year.
